Dr. Bobby Burgess

Pastor Bobby loves Jesus and is passionate about making disciples. He has been married to his wife, Charity, since February of 1998. They have 5 children, as well as a son-in-law and a daughter-in-law. Pastor Bobby grew up in a loving, Christian home, but he did not truly come to faith in Christ until he was 31 years old. A couple of years later, he surrendered his life to full-time vocational ministry, and he began pursuing his education. He holds an MA in Apologetics, an MDiv and a DMin from Luther Rice Seminary. Pastor Bobby and his family began serving at Spring Place in March of 2025 after serving in Pooler, GA for 13 years. He loves his faith family, and is excited about what God is going to do through Spring Place!
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
Invincibility because you could never be defeated.
What is your favorite candy bar?
Butterfinger
If you could have dinner with a person from the Bible, besides Jesus, who would it be and why?
Paul because he took the gospel to places it had never been before, led people to Christ, and started churches in those regions.
Do you have a favorite sports team?
The Florida Gators in NCAA, St. Louis Cardinals in MLB, and New Orleans Saints in the NFL.
What is your love language?
Sarcasm. Haha! Outside of that, words of encouragement.
What is something you wish people knew about your job during the week, besides sermon prep?
The time spent thinking and praying over the spiritual condition of those attending Spring Place Baptist.
What is one thing the Lord has been teaching you lately?
My identity is not found in the successes or failures of the church. My identity is found in Christ. And patience, lol!

What is one thing God has taught, or is teaching, you through this church plant?
That despite the challenges and storms, always keep your eyes on the Lord. There will always be challenges and you can easily lose sight if you don't keep your focus on the Lord.

Linda has been the church secretary of Spring Place Baptist Church since 2009. She and her husband Kevin have been married for 38 years and have 2 adult boys who both live in Atlanta.

Atlanta Braves. My dad was a minor league pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals.

If you were a superhero, what superpower would you want?
As someone who like to hide in the background, invisibility, but I'd like to use my power for good.
